And There Was Much Rejoicing

It appears after much ado, it really was about nothing. Mike Modano will remain a Dallas Star more than likely for the rest of his hockey career. He signed a five year deal today, even though there were offers on the table worth more money with other teams.

This is greatly pleasing to me. I think it would have been very sad watching him play with a different sweater on; especially after seeing Emmit Smith and Ivan Rodriguez playing with other teams.

Modano, in my book, just elevated himself to one of the all time greatest Dallas sports figures in history. I hope some local businesses step up to the plate and give him some sweet endorsement deals to compensate his financial sacrifice to stay in town.

What a guy!

  • There was much rejoicing in the Vermillion house when we heard the wonderful news. I think you were the one that delivered it to us! :)

  • I'd be a whole lot happier if actual hockey weather would come to Texas.
